Theme Thursday: Statues

This statue is one of my favorite wedding gifts. She came all the way from Italy via Robert's brother, who was taking a semester in Rome through The University of Dallas. I cherish her not only for her beauty but also because, a young man, in Rome, with little spending money saw this statue and decided to make it our wedding gift. Robert's brother said, when he saw her, he just knew he had to buy her for us. She had quite an adventure as he back packed all over Europe in the fall of 2006 with her.  Then she finally made her way to our home in January 2007. There are no words to express the sentiment I have for her and my BIL's thoughtfulness.

Now head over to Clan Donaldson to check out MORE beautiful statues, because the Catholic community knows how to appreciate and show our adoration through beautiful works of art.

  5. That is a really beautiful statue. The flowing lines of her garment and her palms outstretched... striking.

The story is really touching, too. Thank you for sharing it!
